NEW RELEASES: A Very British Transition, Taken in Lycia, The Hated Chapters, and The Loyal Pursuit

Last minute ebooks for Christmas? After a quiet year from Sea Lion Press, we wanted to reassure you that we haven't gone anywhere. Four more books are now on sale, and more will be coming as 2025 begins.

Pablo John's A Very British Transition begins not with revolution, nor with coup, but with the transition back to democracy after a 20th century British military junta. Through examination of how the country got here, readers can put together the pieces of a troubling regime rooted in uniquely British elements as well as real-life foreign examples.

SLP veteran Alexander Rooksmoor returns with three new titles, as well:

In Taken in Lycia, the death of Ataturk at Gallipoli has meant the Treaty of Sèvres is still in effect by 1937. A fascist policeman finds himself unpicking a murder as unrest grows in Italian-run Western Anatolia.

The Loyal Pursuit charts the fortunes of American Loyalists who have sought refuge in Canada since the American Revolution. Now, in 1813, American forces are sweeping through the country and taking revenge on Loyalists who tried to fight against their independence.

In The Hated Chapters, it is 1990 and Maryam Hamdi’s prize-winning novel has made her one of the leading authors of the Republic of Al-Andalus. Three very different characters from distinct corners of this altered world will collide in consequence.

All four books are available on the Our Books page of our site.
