The year is 1896. One hundred and sixty-nine years after Prince Frederick was exiled to the American colonies and changed history, the world has enjoyed decades of peace and prosperity marred by rising inequality. As the United Provinces of South America faces a reinvigorated and vengeful Empire of North America, believers in the forgotten Societist ideology of Pablo Sanchez are poised to seize control and enact their vision of a world without nations or flags. Battles stretch across the world, from a reluctant, corrupt Britain and and a Saxon-led Germany to opportunist Maori warlords and Japanese rebels chafing under Russian rule. Even in neutral powers like the Kingdom of France and the Republic of California, no human life will be untouched by this reign of blood.
Unlike previous volumes of "Look to the West", "The Death of Nations" is written in narrative prose, following the stories of both ordinary people and those in power as they live through some of the darkest days in this alternate history of our world. Numerous maps and other media are included to help the reader follow along with the action.
